The charity event “Christmas traditions in times of struggle”

On December 21, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Oksana Drohobitska, joined the charity event “Christmas Traditions in Times of Struggle” organized by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Museum of Liberation Struggle named after S. Bandera. The event was aimed at raising funds for museum workers who are also servicemen. The researcher shared insights on how Christmas was celebrated in the families of Galician intellectuals in the late 19th and 30s of the 20th century. Special thanks were given to war veterans, alumnus of the Faculty of History, Political Science, and International Relations, Ivan Markovetsky, and graduate student in the Master’s program in Secondary Education (History), Andriy Markovetsky, for sharing their memories of celebrating Christmas at the front.
