On December 10, 2024, at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, as part of the STEFANYK OPEN DAY project, the celebration of St. Nicholas Day took place with the participation of more than 500 high school students from Ivano-Frankivsk and the region. The Faculty of History, Political Science, and International Relations organized engaging interactive stations for potential applicants.
The overall coordination of the faculty’s activities was carried out by the responsible person for career guidance, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, Bohdan Paska. The specialty “History and Archaeology” was presented by Associate Professor of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology, Oksana Drohobytska, who organized an ethnographic exhibition, and Associate Professor of the Department of World History, Yurii Dovhan, who arranged a mini-exhibition of medieval weapons and coordinated the involvement of students in the forms of soldiers of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen (USR) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). The staff of the Department of History of Ukraine and Methods of Teaching History, along with senior laboratory assistant of this department, Ivanna Paliychuk, organized the career guidance interactive for the specialty “Secondary Education (History)” with participants from the “Halytska Khoryhva” organization in medieval knight costumes, who conducted a master class on knightly combat. Students of the “Secondary Education (History)” specialty, under the guidance of Associate Professor Bohdan Paska, organized an interesting quiz on Ukrainian history for the guests of the event.
Engaging interactive activities for high school students were also offered by the Departments of International Relations and International Economic Relations. Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations, Orest Boychuk, and his students organized a master class on conducting interstate negotiations. Representatives of the Department of International Economic Relations – Professor Liliia Mykhailyshyn and Associate Professor Iryna Serniak – conducted a fascinating game on creating a business strategy, which was one of the most popular activities among all the interactive sessions offered by the university’s faculties. The event was supported by a representative delegation of faculty members led by the Deputy Dean, Andrii Mishchuk.
In total, the faculty’s teachers and students conducted career guidance discussions with several hundred potential applicants. The event stood out for its atmosphere and high enthusiasm among the guests of the university. We hope that in a few months, we will see many of them as our students. We invite creative young people to study at the Faculty of History, Political Science, and International Relations of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University!
